CushCush Gallery and CushCush Bali, in collaboration with the French Embassy and Institut Français Indonesia presented our first edition of Artist Designer in Residence (ADIR) program. The ADIR program aims at bringing together contemporary French design and the uniqueness and richness of traditional Balinese crafts. As part of this program we invited French designer, Marta Bakowski, to immerse herself in the rich culture of Bali for a month, exploring unique crafts and learning traditional techniques, in direct dialogue with local artisans. Following her residency in Bali, Marta is currently developing a collection to be launched and exhibited at CushCush Gallery and at Paris Design Week in 2023. Here is a short video of Marta’s journey and her encounters with various amazing Balinese artisans during her residency in Bali. A big shout out to our ADIR team that made it all happen!
